Hello, I'm Aidan McCarthy! I was born and raised in NYC, where I attended the Bronx High School of Science. I graduated from the University of Michigan College of Engineering in 2019 with my bachelors in Computer Science Engineering. In the summer of 2022 I interned on the Direct Connect team at AWS as a Software Development Engineer. I worked as a Software Engineer at Manhattan Associates from 2023 to 2025. I now work for a startup - The Cyber Health Company - in NYC. I am passionate about web development, machine learning, and computer networks.

AWS Direct Connect

  • Migrated an internal API service to view and update Direct Connect device properties from Amazon's original network to Native AWS using ELB, ECS, and Fargate.
  • Developed my project in Kotlin as packages inside version sets using Amazon's internal builder tools (Brazil build system) and cloud desktops with pipeline integration for service rollout/deployment. Used Mockito for unit tests.
  • Attended daily standup meetings, learned about Direct Connect's infrastructure and role in helping customers use other AWS services efficiently.
  • Studied Amazon Leadership Principles and corporate culture.
